Free Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) Compliance Review

1. Mailpiece size: EDDM requires mailpieces be of a specific size range. They must be rectangular, with one dimension at least 6.125 inches and the other dimension within the range of 11 inches to 15 inches.

2. Paper weight and thickness: The paper must be at least 0.007 inches thick and be flexible enough to meet USPS requirements for mailing.

3. Printing quality: The mailpieces must have high-quality printing with high-resolution images and clear, legible text.

4. Indicia and Addressing: Indicia indicating that postage has been paid must be placed in the upper right corner of the mailpiece. Sometimes, the mailpiece must also include a complete address block in the upper left corner with a valid delivery address and return address. The address area must also be in the correct location.

5. Mailing list: Instead of a mailing list, EDDM uses carrier routes to determine where mailpieces are delivered.

6. Quantity: There is no minimum quantity requirement for EDDM, but there is a maximum of 5,000 pieces per day per zip code.

7. Bundling and delivery method: The mailpieces must be bundled, labeled with the carrier route, and delivered to the appropriate post office for mailing.

By adhering to these specifications, EDDM campaigns can be cost-effective and efficient in reaching the desired audience.
